Newcomers oust town of Summit supervisor

TOWN OF SUMMIT - Political newcomers James Breen and Scott Piefer won seats on the town board, ousting Summit Town Board Supervisor Jack Riley.

Supervisor Elaine Kraut did not run for re-election.

Of the 1,453 votes cast for two seats on the board, the most went to James Breen, who received 444 votes, or 31 percent. Scott Piefer won 377 votes, or 26 percent. Elizabeth Dow received 361 votes, or 25 percent. Jack Riley received 269 votes, or 19 percent. There were two write-in votes cast in the race.

Incumbent Town Chairman Len Susa ran unopposed and received 468 votes.
