MEQUON - The
city is just days away from operating its own water utility, now
that the common council last week approved borrowing $17.125 million
for the purchase of the utility.
“We’ll take
possession of the water utility May 1,” Mayor Christine Nuernberg
said. ”And I think the transition will be seamless because the
people who operated the water system under We Energies have been
hired by the city to continue operating it. So it’ll be the same
excellent manner that was done prior to city ownership.”
