According to a proposal put forth by administrators, there are six other virtual schools in the state offering middle school programming, and by adding it to iQ, it would help enrollment.

"We have an awful lot of our parents that ask us if we offer middle school and it got us thinking," said Rick Nettesheim, principal of iQ Academies. "We think it would be a really good fit."

According to the proposal, the programming would be geared towards students in grades six through eight and offer general education classes, plus foreign languages, computer fundamentals, digital photography and Web design. It also states the programming would include more teacher involvement and supplementation than high school courses.
