WAUKESHA - Icy conditions in Waukesha
County created some problems this weekend, although nothing too
serious.
One person slipped on icy pavement and broke her hip, and another
ran into a pole in the parking lot of Arrowhead High School because
of the ice. However, law enforcement officials said they did not
receive an increased number of reported accidents or any other
ice-related problems during the weekend.
Freezing rain Saturday night created ice-covered roadways,
sidewalks and parking lots. Waukesha Police Lt. Ron Tischer said
Sunday afternoon the main roads were fine, but the side streets
proved to be the problem areas. He said crews from the Waukesha city
garage were out early Sunday putting salt on the roads.
