Alderwoman Peggy Bull was the only person to vote against it.

The ordinance would need final approval from the common council before it could be put into effect. The move is in response to an ordinance in Milwaukee mandating sick leave pay for employees. Milwaukee’s sick leave ordinance was set to take effect Feb. 3, but was blocked from taking effect by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Cooper until the court has had an opportunity to rule on whether or not it’s legal.
