Two veterans of Pewaukee politics are seeking the two-year term,
which became a wide-open race when Village President Chuck Nichols
opted to step down after two terms.
Trustee Jeff Knutson hopes to thwart the comeback attempt of
former village president and trustee John Laimon. The election comes
at a pivotal time for the village, as merger talks with City of
Pewaukee heat up and a faltering economy squeezes the pocketbooks of
residents and the municipality alike.
