WAUKESHA - Wisconsin virtual school enrollment looks to have already exceeded the cap put in place by the state Legislature just one year ago, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction said Thursday.

Patrick Gasper, spokesman for the DPI, said with the number of applicants slated to begin in a virtual school in the 2009-10 school year, plus the number of students who will be grandfathered into a school because they have an older sibling already enrolled in one, the cap has probably been exceeded.
