Jobless rate dips slightly in West Bend
West Bend still has 4th highest rate of Wisconsin cities

WEST BEND - Unemployment rates improved slightly last month in West Bend, but remain the fourth highest in the state.

In West Bend, the unemployment rate in April was 13.8 percent, down slightly from 14.2 percent in March. Last April, the city’s employment rate was 5.5 percent.

In Washington County, the April unemployment rate of 9.3 percent was also 0.4 percent lower than the March figure. In April, Washington County had the 46th highest unemployment rate among Wisconsin’s 72 counties.

Numbers released Wednesday by the Department of Workforce Development show joblessness went down in April in all 12 metropolitan areas and in 64 counties.
