In the past year, Ozaukee County has been named among the
top counties to raise a family, live a long life and
maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is also a good place to be
wealthy, according to recently released figures by the
Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Among the top 50 municipalities with the highest per
capita income, Ozaukee County ranked 29th with a per capita
income of $60,059 in 2007. It is the only Wisconsin county
or metropolitan area to make the list and only one of five
counties in the Midwest to do so.
"I’m not surprised," said Mequon Mayor
Christine Nuernberg. "I think Ozaukee County is a
wonderful place to live and it’s not surprising it would
attract high-income people who would value the beauty of the
county."
