MILWAUKEE – The Bon-Ton Stores exceeded its goal of raising $100,000 for the American Heart Association during February by $7,350. As part of the campaign, up to $20,000 of the goal came through texting and social media interaction and the rest was generated through the sales of Community Days coupon books online and at all the company’s retail stores.

All of Bon-Ton’s nameplates participated in the promotion, including Bergner’s, Bon-Ton, Boston Store, Carson’s, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers.

“We are thrilled with the way our customers responded to the ‘Love Your Heart’ promotion,” said Brendan Hoffman, president and chief executive office of The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc., in a news release. “We realize that heart disease touches one-in-every-three people.  Our Community Days promotion is all about improving the communities in which we live and work.  What better way to touch these communities than to help everyone live healthier lives free from cardiovascular disease and stroke.”
