WAUKESHA - ProHealth Care’s outpatient cancer services received quality certification by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, a professional organization representing physicians who treat cancer patients.

ProHealth Care operates cancer centers at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and the D.N. Greenwald Center in Mukwonago.

ProHealth’s outpatient cancer services have been recognized by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI) Certification Program, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The QOPI Certification Program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices, according to a ProHealth Care press release.

Certification involves an evaluation of cancer practice and documentation standards including an on-site verification that the practices meet core standards in all areas of treatment, including treatment planning, staff training and education, chemotherapy orders and drug preparation, patient consent and education, and assessment of patient well-being, the press release said.
