OCONOMOWOC — The Oconomowoc Plan Commission approved March 8 the major design review plans for a proposed project that could result in the construction of Eagles Landing at Lac La Belle, a 21-unit condominium building at the site where the Spinnaker’s restaurant used to operate.

Located at 128 W. Wisconsin Ave., the building would feature a new restaurant, space for the American Legion Post 91 and likely two condominiums on the building’s first floor, said Mark Neumann in February. Neumann believed the remaining 19 units would be placed throughout the rest of the building, which he said could be as high as five to six stories at some points.

Neumann and his wife, Sue, who own Ten Point Properties, Inc., reached an understanding with American Legion Post 91 this past summer that the building would be sold to the Neumanns should the Common Council approve the various measures allowing for the build.

American Legion Post 91 Commander Bill Winkels said the two sides would look to close on the building in April if the council approves the various aspects of the project soon.

The Oconomowoc Plan Commission also approved the certified survey map that would combine and reconfigure the Spinnaker’s property with the former Peeble’s property at 116 W. Wisconsin Ave. that the Neumanns also acquired and the nearby city municipal lot.

According to city documents, the municipal parking lot would be transferred to Ten Point Properties upon approval of the Common Council. The city would then maintain the right to park vehicles on the surface portion of the lot through a 100year lease agreement valued at $1.

A resolution to approve the map is on the agenda for the Oconomowoc Common Council’s Tuesday meeting.
