WAUKESHA - On Wednesday, Capri Senior Communities announced it has purchased Heritage Place of Brookfield, a 90-unit senior living community located near North Avenue and Calhoun Road.

Capri Senior Communities, a provider of independent lifestyle communities for older adults, has expanded into several communities recently, including Grafton and Port Washington.

"Heritage Place of Brookfield is an outstanding senior community in a premier location, and we look forward to continuing the tradition of excellence that the former owners have established since it opened in 1985," said James Tarantino, founder and principal of Capri Senior Communities and its development arm Tarantino & Company, in a statement.

"Each one of our campuses and communities is designed to provide for the unique needs and desires of today's seniors. We look forward to continuing the high level of service and care that residents have come to expect from the excellent staff at Heritage Place."

Tarantino said Capri plans to retain the current staff and maintain all services and programs now offered at Heritage Place. He said Capri will also invest in both interior and exterior upgrades, introduce new services and offer expanded dining options aimed at helping residents maintain the quality of life that they are used to as independently as possible.

In addition, according to the announcement, Capri will explore adding more personal and health care services so people can stay in the community as they continue aging.

"The market is responding well to our business model and service offerings, and the decision to acquire Heritage Place is another step forward in our plans for continued growth," Tarantino said.
