WAUKESHA — When Kmart
Corporation shutters three of its Wisconsin locations, 239 workers
will lose their jobs.
The company notified the
Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Tuesday that it
intends to close stores in West Allis, La Crosse and Medford.
The store located at 7900 W.
Greenfield Ave., West Allis, will begin its closure process on Sept.
2 and it is anticipated to take up to two weeks. The Milwaukee Rapid
Response Team will contact the company to offer Rapid Response
Services for the 114 affected workers.
Both of the other locations at
2415 State Road, La Crosse, and 190 Medforoad Plaza, Medford, are
also anticipated to start the closure process on Sept. 3. At the La
Cross store, 68 employees will be affected and another 57 will be
affected in Medford.
