WAUKESHA — Avalon Square is going through some exterior changes that could last several months, but will better prevent water from seeping into apartments when finished.

Waukesha Senior City Planner Jeff Fortin said the city approved building permits for the multi-phase project — including new cladding around windows and pulling off the fake metal balconies — in 2014, after some water damage due to “however they fastened the balconies on.”

Workers are currently working on making the North Barstow Street side look like the West Main Street side, Fortin said.

Avalon Square staff were not immediately available for comment Wednesday.
