BROOKFIELD - A high-energy cycling workout studio that promises to offer a concert-like atmosphere will open later this year in The Corners of Brookfield.

According to the Thursday announcement, David Pelsue has signed an agreement to open a CycleBar studio, an emerging concept in premium indoor cycling. The studio will employ about 15 people.

When it opens in the fall, the 2,522-square-foot CycleBar Brookfield will be located at 20350 W. Lord St. near Lululemon and Von Maur.

"The Corners of Brookfield will be a perfect, central location for people to go and get a great workout in," said Pelsue, owner of the CycleBar Brookfield, in a statement. "I can't wait to introduce this concept that I am so passionate about to the lively and active Brookfield community, and to all ages and levels of experience."

CycleBar offers a pay-per-class model, with no membership necessary. Concierge service and amenities include free towels, showers, lockers and cycling shoes.

Fifty-minute classes will be held in CycleTheatre which will feature tiers for 50 bikes plus LED lighting, wide-screen graphics and state-of-the-art audio with a DJ booth. Riders can also track performance data via CycleStats and can download music used in the class session.
