MILWAUKEE — Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.
announced Monday it acquired the assets of Milwaukee-based Kracor,
Inc., a rotational molding manufacturer.
According to the
announcement, Kracor will become part of Yamaha Marine Systems
Company, a subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A.
"The creation of YMSC and the acquisition of Kracor are part of
Yamaha Marine’s long-term business strategy to expand into more
integrated marine systems," said Ben Speciale, president of Yamaha
Marine Group, in a statement. "YMSC will continue to add
technologies and acquire assets and companies that support the
marine systems strategy."
Founded in Milwaukee by George Kraemer, Kracor opened in 1969.
The company produces rotationally molded plastic products for
national and international markets with parts for the recreational
marine and other industries.
Yamaha Marine Group, based in Kennesaw, Ga., markets marine
outboard motors ranging in size from 2.5 to 350 horsepower.
Yamaha, through its Marine Group, holds approximately a third of
the market share for marine outboards in the United States. Yamaha
Marine Group is a division of Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.,
based in Cypress, Calif.
