MEQUON — The new Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Mequon Health Center will bring a wide array of health care services to the area, according to a news release.

The 92,000-square-foot health center at 11430 N. Port Washington Road is scheduled to open in October.

It will offer primary care and urgent care with extended hours, women’s health and obstetrics/gynecology services.

Specialty care will include endocrinology, orthopedics and sports medicine, spine care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, podiatry and pain management. Screening mammography as well as other imaging services and laboratory services will also be offered.

“We strive to provide the right care in the right place at the right time,” said Dr. Mark Lodes, president, Froedtert & MCW Community Physicians. “Many of our patients come from the Mequon area, and they tell us they want high quality care that’s convenient and fits their lives.

“The Mequon Health Center is designed to deliver on that, offering health care that’s close to home with a streamlined connection to the Froedtert & MCW academic medical center if needed,” he added.

The Mequon Health Center will have a special emphasis on sports medicine, orthopedics and spine care, including chiropractic, pain management, surgical consults and physical medicine and rehabilitation. The health center will have a walk-in clinic for acute orthopedic injuries as well as a state-of-the-art sports performance and training facility.

Lodes said the design of the new health center responds to the trend toward digital health care, offering technology options such as virtual consults and e-visits.

The health system will lease the facility from Ryan Companies, the developer. The architect is Eppstein Uhen Architects.

The Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin.

It comprises eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center, Froedtert Hospital, Wauwatosa; Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls; and St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend.

The health network includes more than 2,700 physicians across 25 primary and specialty clinical locations representing the collaboration of Wisconsin’s largest multispecialty physician practice with a community-based physician group.

The network’s three hospitals have 804 staffed beds, more than 40,000 annual admissions and nearly 966,000 annual outpatient visits. Froedtert & MCW network physicians have more than 775,000 annual patient visits at its health centers and clinics.
