continue to pop up along Bluemound Road and other parts
of Brookfield, new jobs are consistently generated.
help businesses fill those vacant, or yet-to-be created,
positions, the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce
will hold an industry-specific job fair on Sept. 6.
the chamber did a general job fair last year and asked
participants what they would be interested in for the
future, Chamber President and CEO Carol White said they
heard companies wanted industry specific job fairs.
anywhere that’s retail or restaurant, you are seeing
‘now hiring’ signs,” White said.
addition, White said she has heard from a number of
businesses who are going to start losing summer workers
to college. So that, compounded with the new jobs, led
to the chamber planning a job fair targeting the
targeting retail/restaurant/ hospitality sector.
White pointed to The Corners development and how new
businesses are opening every month, and ones already
operating, like Von Maur, still have empty positions.
“More and more of that development and building Is
coming to fruition and with that comes more of a need
for a workforce,” White said.
