New Mequon Sport Clips plans benefit event

MEQUON — Sport Clips, which bills itself as the nation’s largest franchise dedicated to men’s and boy’s hair care, will open Aug. 15 in Mequon’s Concord Center shopping center, 11523 N. Port Washington Road.

As part of grand-opening activities, Sport Clips will host a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 to benefit the Mequon Fire Department.

The funds raised will assist with training and the purchase of a video laryngoscope for an ambulance. Food and drinks will be served. Green Bay Packers football tickets will be raffled off; 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Fire Department.

Sport Clips also will provide free “MVP upgrades” – including massaging shampoo, hot steamed towel treatment and neck and shoulder massage – to all first-time clients who purchase a haircut.

Sport Clips will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 pm. Saturday. The owner of the Mequon franchise is Deb Pokel. The website is
