WAUKESHA - Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin announced Tuesday that NX Level Athletics will manage a state-of-the-art sports performance and training facility in the Mequon Health Center.

Based in Waukesha, NX Level will offer programs for people of all ages who want to improve their athletic ability. The programs are designed to help teams, groups and individuals develop speed, flexibility, strength, endurance, nutrition, body composition and awareness in any sport. Working with schools, including training for high school sports combines, is one of NX Level's specialties.

The Mequon Health Center, 11430 N. Port Washington Road, is planned to open in October.

"We want to build on the highly successful sports performance programs that have long been offered through the Froedtert & MCW Sports Medicine Centers, and it just makes sense to bring in an experienced partner to help us manage this new, expanded offering," said Julie Kerk, vice president of musculoskeletal, neurosciences and spine service lines for the Froedtert & MCW health network, in a statement. "NX Level has the expertise, knowledge and reputation to help us put it together. They are well-known for their work with athletes and we were impressed by their holistic approach to sports performance and training. Education, training, and injury prevention are part of our mission as an academic medical center. They are a great fit for us."

The Mequon Health Center's training facility is equipped with synthetic field turf, a sand pit, and cardio workout, stretching and weight lifting areas. Schools and community teams will be able to rent the space.

"We're excited to collaborate with the Froedtert & MCW team and can't wait to bring NX Level to Mequon," said Brad Arnett, NX Level owner, in a statement. "Our customized training approach helps all populations become more athletic, build their bodies, increase speed, enhance cardiovascular health, avoid injury, improve self-confidence and develop a lifelong work ethic."
