Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, 1733 S. Main St., West Bend said on its Facebook page it will permanently close starting after its business hours Sunday.

The post was made Wednesday afternoon.

'It is with sadness that we inform you we have to close this store location permanently effective September 17th, 2017 at close of business,' the Facebook post says. 'We have been negotiating new lease terms with the landlord for the past six-eight weeks and they informed us as of last night they are no longer willing to move forward with the terms we agreed upon.'

The company added they wanted to alert the public of the closing to allow customers enough time to redeem any coupons, gifts cards, etc.

'These will still be valid at our other Menchie's locations as well,' the post says.

Sunday's hours are noon-9 p.m.

'We are so appreciative of all of you in the West Bend community who have shared smiles with us,' the post says.

According to its website, Menchie's first store opened in the Los Angeles area in 2007 by husband and wife, Danna and Adam Caldwell.

The franchise has more than 540 locations throughout the world, including Canada, Puerto Rico, Kuwait, India and Japan.

There are five franchises in Wisconsin, including West Bend. The other locations are in Kohler, Manitowoc, Middleton and West Allis.
