Waukesha Metal Products to open Grafton facility for school groups, community

GRAFTON ó Waukesha Metal Products will open its doors to students, educators, elected officials and members of the public Oct. 6 as it celebrates Manufacturing Day.

Waukesha Metal Products will host facility tours at its fabrication and assembly operation in Grafton, 2076 First Ave.

It will provide similar tours at its stamping and tooling operation, which is located in Sussex.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with prescheduled tours for local school groups.

Manufacturing Day, a national event, kicks off Manufacturing Month, a statewide initiative to increase awareness of manufacturing in Wisconsin, according to a news release.

Waukesha Metal Products will highlight the importance of manufacturing to the nationís economy and feature the many rewarding, highly-skilled jobs available in the manufacturing industry, the news release said.

The facility tours will allow visitors to experience the manufacturing process firsthand.

Waukesha Metal Products representatives will be available to answer questions in relation to career pathways in the industry, equipment, the production process or any other questions visitors may have.
