DELAFIELD — A public hearing on a 28-acre proposed
commercial development near the interchange of
Interstate 94 and Highway C has been scheduled by the
Delafield Plan Commission during its Oct. 25 meeting.
The
Prestwick Group of Sussex wants to develop a corporate
campus that would include an approximately 50,000
square-foot light manufacturing/assembly plant, a
similar-sized corporate headquarters, and a gather
center that would include a large park and barn that
could be used for corporate and possible community
events, according to company officials.
The
Prestwick Group began in 1977 creating golf course
equipment, and has since expanded to the manufacture of
more than $220 million in outdoor furnishing products
for a wide range of uses and consumers that are shipped
to more than 61 companies.
The
company is outgrowing its Sussex location, according to
a company spokesman.
Residents of nearby neighborhoods Indian Springs Drive
and Behr Road voiced concerns about the project when it
was initially presented to the commission in June.
The
Plan Commission will have to consider a zoning change
and conditional use permit for the project, according to
City Planner Roger Dupler. |
