MEQUON — Mequon’s Planning Commission gave an informal nod Oct. 10 to plans to improve the Clark gas station at 10335 N. Port Washington Road.

Owners are seeking waivers to the zoning code to make a variety of improvements at the site. The item was on the agenda simply to get feedback from commissioners. Since the plans got a favorable response, it likely will return for formal action at an upcoming meeting.

Plans call for an addition to the south and west sides of the existing building.

City staff said they were in favor of the plans, but are requesting owners bring several areas, including lighting and landscaping, into compliance with city rules.

In addition to the expansion, an air-conditioning unit that now is on the ground will be moved up to the roof, according to the discussion that took place during the meeting.
