WAUKESHA — Walmart has filed a lawsuit against Waukesha for allegedly excessive real estate taxes imposed this year under the “dark store” argument.

Walmart representatives claim the fair market value for the property in 2017 should be no higher than $8.8 million. The city assessor’s office had valued the property at $14 million.

Several other stores in Waukesha have made similar claims and all have settled in mediation with the city.
