The Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin said Friday because of predictions of increased holiday sales over last year, retailers are expecting to hire more seasonal workers and potentially turn tens of thousands of seasonal jobs into full-time employment.

The National Retail Federation expects holiday retail sales in November and December to increase between 3.6 and 4 percent for a total of $678.75 $682 billion (up from $655 billion in 2016). In addition, NRF is predicting retailers will hire between 500,000 and 550,000 temporary workers this holiday season.

The BBB offered tips for job seekers:

Search according to opportunity.

Apply to stores where you shop.

Be flexible.

Be suspicious of online offers requesting money.
