BROOKFIELD - Plans that will be presented to the Brookfield Plan Commission on Monday call for razing most of the Sears store at Brookfield Square Mall to make room for an already approved movie theater complex.

CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. is requesting approval of a plan and method of operation for the redevelopment of the Sears portion of Brookfield Square Mall, 115 S. Moorland Road. The redevelopment would include razing most of the department store and replacing it with a Marcus BistroPlex theater previously approved by the Plan Commission on Nov. 13. The BistroPlex would be about 48,000 square feet in size on two stories. It would be an entertainment and restaurant venue that would also contain mall shops and outbuildings.

In addition, CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. is requesting approval of the allocation of Tax Increment District No. 3 project costs to the redevelopment project. Both items require Common Council approval.

Also at Monday’s meeting, CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. will present an amendment to the development agreement for phase VII of the Boston Store/Bon Ton portion of Brookfield Square Mall, 95 N. Moorland Road, which would end the prior approval of the allocation of Tax Increment District No. 3 project costs to the Boston Store redevelopment project. The Plan Commission will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2000 N. Calhoun Road.
