“After 40 years, it’s really fun to be in the restaurant and know so many customers by name,” she added. “It’s such a pleasure to come to work every day.”

In 1977, siblings Lisa and Bob Ferrante opened Ferrante’s on the corner of Donges Bay and Port Washington roads. It was one of just five restaurants on the east side of Mequon. In 1985, Lisa’s daughter, Amy Ferrante-Gollwitzer took over as owner.

She expanded the offerings in 2000 by adding a full-service catering business, Ferrante’s Signature Catering. Future expansions included the 2015 opening of Cafa B Data in the Harry and Rose Samson Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay.

Cafa B Data is Milwaukee’s only kosher meat restaurant.
