CEDARBURG — Dave’s Bagels will likely close its doors for good Saturday. Owner Dave Forrest said that is the day he is eyeing for his last day. He said it will be a difficult, but that he has no other choice.

“We won’t be open through the end of the year,” he said. “And anyone who wants a larger order should call ahead.”

Building landlord Concord Development notified Forrest in late May that his lease would not be renewed. In June, Forrest told the News Graphic that his business had maintained an amicable relationship with the landlord to that point, and while the news had been very shocking, it was legal.

“There’s nothing improper going on. It’s always up to the landlord what they want to do,” he said at the time.

Forrest did look at other locations but ultimately did not seek to relocate his business due to the likely required build-out and business costs.

Dave’s Bagels has been at its W62 N206 Washington Ave. location for about 15 years.
