CEDARBURG ó With the start of the new year, a number of changes are taking place in Cedarburgís downtown shopping district. Among them are:

Walterís Loft, W62 N590 Washington Ave., closed permanently before Christmas, though the Fox Point location for the consignment and furniture store remains open. According to the storeís Facebook page, the space will be taken over by a new business called Heirloom Gallery this week.

The Rustic Palate, W63 N712 Washington Ave., a purveyor of kitchen items, closed this fall and has been replaced by Elements Unleashed, a boutique featuring specialty clothing in addition to furrier services. This is the second location for Elements Unleashed, which is expanding from Neenah. The boutique held a soft opening in mid-December.

Salís Pizza, W63 N635 Washington Ave., remains closed though information supplied by the building owner indicates that a restaurant is scheduled to be open in the building in January. Whether or not that will be Salís Pizza is unknown at this time.
