BROOKFIELD — Sears Holdings notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development on Wednesday that it will be closing its stores in Brookfield and Green Bay and 102 workers will lose their jobs.

The closings of the stores were announced last week.

According to the notice submitted to the DWD, a combined 96 workers will be affected by the stores’ closures at 15 S. Moorland Road, Brookfield, and 1555 Green Bay Plaza, Green Bay.

Additionally, the Sears Auto Unit at the Green Bay location will also cease operations, affecting a total of six workers.

Approximately 59 employees will lose their jobs at the Sears in Brookfield. Layoffs are expected to start March 18 and last for about two weeks.

DWD and its partners at the Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington and Bay Area Workforce Development Boards will work with the affected partners to coordinate Rapid Response Services.
