WAUKESHA — Florida-based funeral home operator Foundation Partners Group has purchased Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker.

The acquisition was announced in an undated press release posted to FPG’s website this month and brings the number of the company’s Wisconsin “partner locations” to five, the release states.

FPG owns dozens of funeral parlors stretching from Florida to Washington state, including locations in Fort Atkinson, Cambridge, Jefferson and Whitewater.

The company describes itself in the release as a leading provider of innovative funeral experiences and products, committed to revolutionizing the funeral profession.

“The acquisition of Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker offers a wonderful opportunity to expand upon our existing network in central Wisconsin,” said Bob Bukala, president and CEO of FPG in the release. “As part of our growth strategy we look to affiliate with firms that are considered to be trusted friends by the communities in which they serve ... We are thrilled that the CCZ team has chosen to join the Foundation Partners family.”

Calls to Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Wednesday were not returned by press time, but the FPG press release contains a quote from the funeral home’s owner, Ryan Nowatka.

“The whole team is very excited to join forces with Foundation Partners Group,” Nowatka said. “We all look forward to bringing new ideas and services to our families in the Waukesha area.”

Having served generations of Waukesha residents at other locations and under different names since 1897, Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker has been at its current location at 237 N. Moreland Boulevard since the 1960s.

In February of 2015, Mary Lou Charapata, who joined the business 1982, passed the ownership on to Nowatka, the funeral home’s website states.

“Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker has long enjoyed an outstanding reputation in the Waukesha area and consistently delivers the same high standards we strive to achieve every day,” Erin Whitaker, vice president of business development at FPG, said in the release. “We are delighted to welcome the team to Foundation Partners.”
