HUBERTUS — The Fox & Hounds Restaurant, 1298 Friess Lake Road, Hubertus, was named the Milwaukee region’s Best Romantic Restaurant in 2017 by The Milwaukee A List City Voter.

“We are honored by this recognition,” said Will Masters, owner of the restaurant, in a news release. “We look forward to blowing away expectations for 2018 and beyond.”

According to the release, the restaurant’s specialties include steak, lobster, fish fry and several soups and salads. Wine and craft beer are also highlighted on the menu.

“Adding to the romantic feel of the dining room are seven natural wood burning fireplaces and live entertainment, along with attentive world-class service,” the release said.

The origins of Fox & Hounds can be traced back to 1845, when it began as a one-room cabin in the woods. In 1933, it was restored, with a basement bar added, and first opened its doors mainly to local equestrians.
