Crossing guard Chuck Fellenz of West Bend holds his
whistle in his mouth as he waits for students to
approach his intersection while the destruction of the
former Walgreens building at the intersection of Decorah
Road and South Main Street continues Thursday afternoon
in West Bend.
The building is being torn down to make way for a Kwik
Trip gas station. This will be the second Kwik Trip
developed in West Bend since the first one was built in
“I would like to see how it’s going to be with all the
traffic,” Fellenz said. Fellenz, a crossing guard at the
intersection for five years, helps children from roughly
five different schools cross the intersection.
