MILWAUKEE — Mequon resident Lisa Froemming has been named vice president of philanthropy for Ascension Wisconsin.

She will be responsible for leading foundation operations throughout the state and will align philanthropy with system strategy across Ascension Wisconsin to support innovative and mission- driven services for Ascension’s patients and the communities it serves.

Froemming will continue to serve as president and CEO of the Columbia St. Mary’s Foundation, a position she has held for 14 years. During that tenure, she successfully led the $42 million Beyond Medicine capital campaign to build the new Milwaukee campus and expand community services.

She also led fundraising for projects including the Polly and Bill Van Dyke Cancer Center, Ascension Seton Mobile Dental Clinic, and implementing 3-D mammography across the system.

“It is critically important that our local foundation boards continue their invaluable leadership and governance to best identify the needs of each community,” said Bernie Sherry, senior vice president, Ascension Healthcare.

Froemming said it is a privilege to take on the role.

“I look forward to building a connected network of our expert staff across Wisconsin, as we sustain and grow our relationships with local boards, volunteers and donors,” she said.

Froemming is a member of TEMPO women’s leadership organization and serves on its membership committee, is a director and immediate past chair of the board of Cedarburg Cultural Center and a member of the board of the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce.
