BROOKFIELD — Wisconsin Dells-based Macaroni and Cheese Shop (MACS) is coming to Brookfield this spring to serve the Milwaukee area with cheesy comfort food in cast-iron skillets.

Construction has already begun at MACS, a specialty macaroni and cheese restaurant, which will be located at 1000 S. Moorland Drive in Brookfield and is expected to be complete in March. The newest location will join MACS restaurants in Lake Delton, Appleton, Sun Prairie and Green Bay, the first of which opened in 2013.

Every item on the menu — including loaded baked potato mac, jalapeno popper mac and chicken bacon ranch mac — is delivered in a cast-iron skillet, made with heaps of Wisconsin cheese and garnished with a side of signature “toasties.”

Keller, Inc. has been tapped for construction of the restaurant with a rustic industrial interior. Keller is entirely employee-owned and has offices in Milwaukee, Madison, Wausau and the Fox Cities, according to a press release.
