HARTLAND — Discussion on the
Neumann Developments Inc. condominium project called The Glen at
Overlook Trails has been tabled until Dec. 19, Village Board members
decided Monday night.
The Glen at Overlook Trails is a Neumann Developments, Inc. project
comprised of 50 condos on 40 acres of land formerly known as “The
North Forty” between the Mary Hill Park subdivision and Winkleman
Road. The 40 acres are currently in the Town of Merton.
The board was slated to vote on annexing the Merton land, the
development site plan and would have had the third reading to amend
the official zoning map of Hartland, according to the agenda.
However, board members felt it would be best to wait until they
heard from the Wisconsin Department of Administration about whether
the annexation is in the public interest, said Dave Cox, village
State law requires the village to seek DOA approval, although the
village could challenge the DOA if it should deny the annexation,
Cox added. The DOA has until the Dec. 19 meeting to decide if the
annexation is in the public interest.
Matt Neumann, CEO of Neumann Developments Inc., said he was not
concerned by the delay, but urged the Village Board for a
conditional approval of his site plan so they could break ground as
soon as possible.
The board did not grant Neumann conditional approval and instead
rescheduled the Dec. 24 board meeting to Dec. 19, when they will
revisit The Glen at Overlook Trails.
