WAUKESHA — Shopko Optical Center will hold a grand opening celebration Monday for its new location at 1166 W. Sunset Drive. The center opened for regular hours on this past Monday.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Monday and the community is invited to participate.

“We’re excited to bring Shopko Optical to Waukesha,” said Kirk Lauterback, director of optical services, in a statement. “Like our traditional centers, we are focused on delivering excellent patient care at a great value. We are also proud to offer one of the area’s best selections of eyeglass frames. This location will provide an added level of convenience for patients in Waukesha and the surrounding communities.”

The grand opening event will be highlighted by a $500 check presentation to Prairie Elementary School from the Shopko Foundation prior to the ribbon cutting.

The Optical Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shopko Optical Centers offer eye care and contact lens and eyeglass products.

On Wednesday, the Green Bay-based Shopko announced it had sold 42 pharmacies across the country to Kroger. Earlier this month, Shopko announced it would be closing some store locations around the country.
