PEWAUKEE — Jersey Mike’s sub shop could make its debut in the Lake Country area following a meeting Thursday night where the Plan Commission approved a conceptual design for a new location on the village’s southeast side.

The sandwich franchise would be located in a new shopping center on the southwest corner of Highway 164 and Capitol Drive, Village President Jeff Knutson told a Freeman reporter.

The new shopping complex, called Meadow Ridge Shops, is currently under construction off Meadowcreek Drive, adjacent to the Associated Bank. Meadow Ridge will also have a Chick-fil-A and the Meadowcreek Drive Starbucks will relocate to the shopping center, adding a drive-thru to its new location.

Knutson added that a fourth tenant could be an auto-mechanic or some sort of auto services company, although no definitive plans have been brought before the Plan Commission, Knutson said. This leaves one other unknown tenant, since plans for Meadow Ridge Shops indicate a four-building plan with five tenants to be constructed by the end of 2019.

This would be the first of the franchise in Lake Country, however, there are Jersey Mike’s locations in Brookfield and in Waukesha.
