WAUKESHA — A new downtown eatery, 5 Joints @ 5 Points, is ready for diners.

Located at 257 W. Broadway in the space formerly occupied by Chappie’s on Broadway, the restaurant officially opened today with the unveiling of its first “joint”: 5JointsBBQ.

Now that it’s up and running, the restaurant, which is slated to feature five different cuisines cooked by five different chefs, the business is ready to add its other “joints.”

“Now that we are a licensed facility we can begin to accept other chefs,” chef turned restaurant developer Terence Williams said Thursday.

Once all those new joints are in place, diners will be able to choose from the various cuisines, but without having to stand in line.

“What we are going to do is take that huge kitchen and separate it up into five work stations, just like on the show ‘Chopped,’” explained Williams earlier this year. His other venture in the community is the barbecue food truck Tex-A-Consin.

The plan is for 5 Joints to operate as a quasi-cooperative, Williams said, giving up-and-coming chefs the chance to build a name for themselves and their food, without having to assume the costs associated with opening their own restaurants.

The project also includes a 6,000-square-foot area on the building’s second floor, which is being turned into office, conference, and teaching space for the chefs.

Chefs interested in being part of 5 Joints @ 5 Points should send an email to 5Jointsat5Points@gmail.com, or call Williams directly at 262-225-0605.

“We are anxious and excited about finding our other five chefs,” Williams said.
