Herzing University proposes campus in vacant Brookfield building

BROOKFIELD ó Empty since summer, the former Fresh Market building at Brookfield Square may soon be filled by Herzing University.

The Brookfield Plan Commission will first consider the request at its Monday meeting for Herzing University to remodel the 23,000-square-foot building at 15895 W. Bluemound Road for use as an accredited university.

Itís seeking approval for a conditional use public hearing to remodel and use the building.

The Common Council will also discuss the project on Tuesday.

The Plan Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday and the Common Council will meet at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, both in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2000 N. Calhoun Road.
