MEQUON — Port Washington State
Bank Jan. 22 announced the team formed to lead its newest branch in
Mequon, which will open this spring.
The bank plans to open its eighth branch early this year at 10509 N.
Port Washington Road.
Here are the personnel moves:

Joe Gutsmiedl has been promoted to assistant vice president-branch
manager of the Mequon office, bringing with him 20 years of
management experience, with 13 of those years spent in retail
business.
“Joe has proven to lead by example within our bank, and we’re proud
of the relationships he's built with our customers and our
employees,” said James Schowalter, PWSB’s senior vice president-
chief credit officer. “Joe has an inherent ability to develop
strong, dynamic relationships, which will serve as the foundation
for our newest endeavor in Mequon.”
Gutsmiedl is a graduate of Winona State University.

Patryk Schmeling will serve as Personal Banker 1.
“Patryk has delivered top-notch customer service and consumer
lending expertise for PWSB customers for the last five years, most
recently at our Fredonia office,” Schowalter said in a news release.
“We know our Mequon patrons will value Patryk’s proactive, customer-
centric approach to community banking which will further his success
in the years to come.” Schmeling is a graduate of the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
■ Clara Levine has been promoted to Customer Service Representative
2. She is celebrating her third year with PWSB after spending five
years in retail roles.
“Clara exemplifies the customer service standards that PWSB has been
known for, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow within
the bank in the coming years,” Schowalter said.
The 4,300-square-foot Mequon branch will be located in the former
Associated Bank location. PWSB’s Mequon location will be a
full-service branch, offering personal banking along with commercial
and mortgage lending, all on site.
Port Washington State Bank is a full-service community bank, locally
owned and operated for 120 years. Headquartered in Port Washington,
the bank is principally owned and led by the third-, fourth- and
fifth-generation descendants of the founder.
The bank has locations in Port Washington, Belgium, Fredonia,
