OCONOMOWOC — The Oconomowoc Common Council will hold a public hearing to discuss an amendment to the city’s comprehensive land use plan that would allow Wangard Partners to put apartments on the defunct Olympia Resort and Conference Center, according to the preliminary council agenda.

The meeting is set for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 174 E. Wisconsin Ave.

In addition to the amendment to the comprehensive land use plan, the council will also hear ordinance readings about rezoning 16.74 acres of land at Olympia from general commercial to residential multi-unit high.

Wangard Partners bought the Olympia property in December 2018 and has hopes to build an approximate 135-unit apartment in the old hotel, reducing the room size from around 300 rooms.

The final plat for Prairie Creek Ridge’s third addition is also up for a vote from the council.

As always the final council agenda will be released on Friday and can be viewed at oconomowocwi. gov under the agenda center in the government tab.
