WAUKESHA — The city of Waukesha could soon have another Planet Fitness.

According to city records, the company is pitching a plan for a 20,730-square-foot fitness center that would be located in one of the outlots of Woodman's Food Market, 1600 E. Main St.

The standalone building would be located on the northeast corner of East Main Street and Manhattan Drive, and Planet Fitness would be the sole occupant.

Additional improvements to the site would include utilities, a parking lot with 250 stalls, and landscaping. Stormwater management would be provided by a regional pond.

The Plan Commission is slated to review the project's preliminary site plan on March 13.

The gym is the second company to eye a project in one of the sprawling grocery store's outlots.

In October, the commissioners considered a preliminary site plan for a 5,665-square-foot strip mall to be constructed in an outlot that would contain a 2,200-square-foot Starbucks Coffee Shop and 3,465 square feet for additional tenants.
