GREEN BAYŚ Shopko notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce on Monday that it will reduce the number of employees at its Green Bay Store Support Center, 700 Pilgrim Way.

A total of about 140 people will lose their jobs, starting April 8, according to the notice. That number could change.

Shopko said on Jan. 16 that it and its subsidiaries had filed for court-supervised financial restructuring under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.

So far, the company has announced two rounds of store closings that will result in the West Bend, Sussex, Grafton and Watertown locations to close.

In all, 24 Shopko locations will close in Wisconsin and about 1,000 employees will lose their jobs.

More stores around the country are also set to close.
