GREEN BAYŚ Shopko notified the
Wisconsin Department of Workforce on Monday that it will reduce the
number of employees at its Green Bay Store Support Center, 700
A total of about 140 people will lose their jobs, starting April 8,
according to the notice. That number could change.
Shopko said on Jan. 16 that it and its subsidiaries had filed for
court-supervised financial restructuring under Chapter 11 of the
U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
So far, the company has announced two rounds of store closings that
will result in the West Bend, Sussex, Grafton and Watertown
locations to close.
In all, 24 Shopko locations will close in Wisconsin and about 1,000
employees will lose their jobs.
More stores around the country are also set to close.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Dislocated Worker
Program provides transition assistance to workers and companies
affected by permanent worker layoffs.
