Greenfield hospital to close, lay off 172

GREENFIELD — Due to changes in the kinds of patients it can treat, Post Acute Specialty Hospital of Milwaukee, LLC announced Thursday it will close.

Located at 5017 S. 110th St. in Greenfield, PAM Specialty Hospital of Milwaukee will close April 30.

“For a reasons, largely related to dramatic changes designed to substantially limit the type of patients who could be treated in long-term acute hospitals, Post Acute Specialty Hospital of Milwaukee, LLC has decided to permanently close its facility in Wisconsin, PAM Specialty Hospital of Milwaukee,” reads the notice sent to the Department of Workforce Development.

Of the 172 workers who will lose their jobs, 35 are administrative, 114 are clinical services, eight are in maintenance and 15 are in dietary.

DWD and its regional workforce partner, Employ Milwaukee, will offer rapid response services to the company and the affected workers.
