MILWAUKEE — Mike Brenner, a Milwaukee native, has joined American Flags Express as a social media manager.

He has worked in marketing and design for 20 years in his hometown. Brenner earned a B.F.A. with a focus on communication design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and an M.B.A. from the Lubar School of Business at University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.

“We are very proud to welcome Mike to the American Flags Express family,” said Thomas J. D’Amico, owner of American Flags Express.

Before owning Brenner Brewing Co and its adjacent art center, The Pitch Project, Brenner ran Hotcakes Gallery and worked as the executive director of the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network.

D’Amico’s daughter, artist Nikki Loscuito, who is also involved in the day-to-day running of American Flags Express, recruited Brenner to help with some big projects at AFE like its free Half-Staff Alerts email service that goes out to 115,000-plus subscribers all over the United States to keep government officials, civil servants, and civilians up to speed on current presidential and gubernatorial half-staff flag proclamations that honor the memory of fallen heroes.

Brenner will also be involved in American Flags Express’s initiative to recycle retired American flags in a respectful, safe and ecologically sound manner.
