MUSKEGO — A brewer has plans to lease a 20,500 square-foot building in a Muskego business park for a craft brewery, restaurant and tap room.

Interstate Partners LLC, a commercial real estate developer, owns the S64W15680 Commerce Center Parkway building, which is the proposed location for the unnamed brewery.

The brewery has chosen to remain anonymous, Interstate Partners explained in a letter to city staff.

“They have chosen not to release the name of the company until all approvals are in place and a lease is signed,” the letter states. “At such point as these items are achieved, they will officially announce the new location.”

An approximately 15,375 square-foot portion of the brewery is dedicated to production space including bottling, canning and the distribution of craft beer and spirits, according to the application.

A tap room, an outdoor patio and restaurant serving a lunch and dinner menu comprises the remainder of the space. The business is also requesting approval for two enclosed grain silos for exterior storage of fresh and spent grains behind the building in the loading dock area.

The brewery would have 30 employees, according to project plans.

Brewery production would occur five days a week while the tap room and restaurant would be open seven days from 11 a.m. to as late as midnight, depending on the day of the week.

“Overall, staff feels this use will become a destination point for many residents and visitors to the City and will fit seamlessly in the Business Park,” reads a city staff report.

The Plan Commission will review the project today at 6 p.m. in City Hall, W182-S8200 Racine Ave.
