Thiensville celebrated the start
of construction for its new stage in Village Park May 1 with a
groundbreaking ceremony. The permanent stage, part of the Village
Park Reimagined! campaign, will be called the Port Washington State
Bank River Stage, thanks to the $65,000 contribution from the bank,
which has a branch location in Thiensville.

Mader, manager of the PWSB Thiensville branch and a member of the
park committee; PWSB Senior Vice President James Schowalter; Village
President Van Mobley; Herb Hillman, board president of Family Fun
Before the Fourth; Andy Ticcioni, a member of the Village Park
Reimagined! committee; and Andy LaFond, Thiensville’s director of
Community Services/Public Works and co-chair of the Village Park
Despite a wet spring, park committee members and village officials
expect the stage will be ready in time for Family Fun Before the
Fourth, set for June 29. Once in place, the stage will provide a
venue for numerous events, including concerts, summer festivals and
Screen on the Green. There are still sponsorship opportunities to
support the stage and other planned improvements in Village Park.
